A visionary form study regarding a reinterpretation of the Mercedes 300SL in consideration of specific retrospective design criteria as well as the inclusion of advanced and forward-looking technologies. The Mercedes 300SL was fully dedicated to motor racing. Form followed function, and all components were laid out for optimizing racing qualities.With the SL_PURE form study, the sporty character of the legendary 300SL is regained. The design concept as well as the name of the form study were both inspired by a puristic approach. A consistent and aesthetic sports car – the SL_PURE was born.
